Individuals in need of a New York State Mold Remediation Contractor license should take this 3 - day course to get certified. All contractors who perform mold remediation or abatement work are required to take this course to stay compliant with New York State regulations per Section 931.2 and avoid fines. New York State regulations require contractors who operate a company that performs mold remediation services or write/approve mold remediation work plans to have a mold remediation contractor license from an accredited training program. Upon successful completion of the course, student will be able to submit an application to New York State Department of Labor Licensing unit to obtain a license.

To receive a NYS Mold License you must have a valid NYS DMV ID number, in the form of a drivers license or non-driver state ID card. You do not have to be a resident of NY to apply for a non-driver ID card. What are the requirements to obtain any Mold License?

Be eighteen (18) years of age or older
Satisfactorily complete your Mold Training Course from a Department of Labor approved training provider
Pay the statutorily required application fee and
Submit proof of:
- Workers’ Compensation coverage
- Disability insurance coverage
- Liability insurance coverage of at least $50,000 providing coverage for claims from the licensed activities and operations performed according to New York State Labor Law Article 32.

This 4 - day Mold Assessor course is required for professionals who will perform mold assessment and will design and write remediation plans for mold remediation/abatement projects in the state of New York. Abatement contractors, construction professionals, building consultants, and environmental remediation and consulting contractors should take this Mold Assessor course to qualify to perform mold assessment, protect worker safety, and ensure compliance with New York State regulations per Section 931.1 in order to avoid fines.

Individuals in need of New York State Mold Assessors and Mold Remediation Contractors licenses should take this combo course to get certified for both. If taken separately both courses would be 7 days (Mold Assessor 4 days, Mold Remediation Contractor 3 days). This combo course is only 4 days! It shortens the amount of time you spend in the classroom.

This course will lead to two separate certifications as a Mold Assessor and Mold Remediation Contractor. New York State regulations require any individual performing mold assessment and remediation to attend an accredited training program.
